Graduating from Glasgow School of Art I worked with ‘Artists at Sea’ and painted passengers’ portraits on cruise ships around the Caribbean and South America and California before setting up a studio in Helensburgh.
Later qualifying as an art teacher at Moray House College, I taught art in secondary schools in the Lothians. We built a studio in our house in Tayvallich, Argyll where the landscape and islands are a constant source of inspiration. Portraiture my first love but I also work in a range of media and subject matter and am in public and private collections here and abroad and have exhibited widely.
